Product Description

A very exotic flower. As the outer sepals fall away, the spiky centre will remain on the flower stalk for up to 3 weeks. Due to the heavy nature of the flower, it is best grown with some shelter from strong winds. it can be grown through other wall-trained shrubs or up into the base of shrubs, growing at the bottom of archways or pergolas.

Delivery & Returns

The mail order plant season has traditionally run from October to March. Plants would be dormant during this time of the year and foliage would either be reduced or absent, reducing the risk of plant damage and making them easier to post.
As our mail order now runs all year round we may need to cut back some of our plants, particularly from April to October. This reduces the stress on the plant due to evaporation and reduces the transport cost. Cutting back will not harm the plants and will help them establish quicker by promoting new root and shoot growth once planted.
