The mail order plant season has traditionally run from October to March. Plants would be dormant during this time of the year and foliage would either be reduced or absent, reducing the risk of plant damage and making them easier to post.
As our mail order now runs all year round we may need to cut back some of our plants, particularly from April to October. This reduces the stress on the plant due to evaporation and reduces the transport cost. Cutting back will not harm the plants and will help them establish quicker by promoting new root and shoot growth once planted.

Dahlia Bishop of Dover has striking dark foliage which enhance the wonderful white flowers that are produced from June to October. The flowers also have a hint of lilac through the petal and cheery yellow centres. The single open flowers make it an excellent late source of nectar for bees and butterflies, and other pollinating insects.
